Bio: I’m a news writer and editor with almost two decades of experience in sports journalism after graduating with a degree in English in Media. I first joined GOAL all the way back in 2008 and returned for a second stint more recently. In that time I’ve covered almost everything the game has to offer, the good, the bad and the ugly, and consider it a privilege to have built a career following a sport I love.

My Football Story: I grew up watching, playing and generally being obsessed by all things football. One of my earliest memories was going to watch my local team Kidderminster Harriers give West Ham an almighty scare in the fifth round of the FA Cup. I didn’t know it at the time, but a few years later I would play on the hallowed turf of Aggborough for Harriers Women in the FA Cup. And yes, we lost that one too. That was the highlight of a very short playing career but going on to work in football media has been the next best thing. I can also be found on the touchline cheering on my son’s team and enjoying watching another generation develop their love for this beautiful game.

Favourite Footballing Memory: There’s so many but managing to somehow be in the right place at the right time and able to sneak into San Siro to watch Italy take on Wales will take some beating for sheer fun value. A rare chance to watch legends such as Gigi Buffon, Fabio Cannavaro, Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso, Alessandro Del Piero and Ryan Giggs up (fairly) close and on the same pitch was pretty special.

    Fulham are reportedly keen to renew manager Marco Silva's contract in a bid to secure his long-term future. The 48-year-old has previously been linked with clubs including Manchester United and Juventus, but the Cottagers are eager for him to continue in west London. Silva's current contract is set to expire at the end of the season and currently contains a release clause set at £15 million ($20.1m).

    Danny Rohl has at last been confirmed as the new manager of Scottish Premiership side Rangers. The former Sheffield Wednesday boss, who had previously ruled himself out of the running, has succeeded Russell Martin in the hotseat in Glasgow. Rohl will take charge of Rangers for the first time on Thursday night when they take on SK Brann in the Europa League.

    England legend Stuart Pearce's son has been killed in a tractor crash at the age of 21. Harley Pearce suffered fatal injuries in the accident in Gloucestershire last week and died at the scene, according to a statement issued via Gloucestershire Police. His family have been left "truly shocked and utterly heartbroken" by their tragic loss and have asked for privacy to be respected at this difficult time.

    Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has explained why he opted to join the Reds over rivals Manchester United. The 58-year-old has revealed he was approached by the Red Devils to succeed the retiring Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013 but was put off by the club's plans to bring former superstars, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, back to Old Trafford for another spell.

However, the duo have been warned the club must keep pace financially and there is one major factor holding the Welsh side back currently.

    Dele Alli's hopes of sealing a move to Wrexham on a free transfer have disappeared after the Championship side confirmed the final place in their squad for the 2025-26 season has gone to returning star Ollie Rathbone. The former Como midfielder had been linked with a move to Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac's side after being released by the Serie A side but must now look elsewhere for a fresh challenge.
