THE BIGGER PICTURE
Milan had accepted Al-Hilal’s bid of €30 million (£25m/$34m) for Hernandez but failed to agree terms with the player despite the whopping €18m (£15m/$20m) salary offered to the player. Hernandez in turn had agreed terms with Spanish club Atletico but their offer of €15m (£13m/$17m) plus bonuses was deemed insufficient by Milan. Atletico have since moved on to other targets such as Andy Robertson and Lucas Digne. With growing reports than Milan are interested in Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie, it has been made clear to the France international and his entourage that they are planning to move on without him next season.
DID YOU KNOW?
In January, Milan reportedly accepted a bid for the 27-year-old from fellow Serie A club Como as manager Cesc Fabregas was interested in the services of the Frenchman. However, Hernandez turned down the bid as he wanted to assess his options on the table and wait for top clubs in Europe to make a move.

WHAT NEXT FOR HERNANDEZ AND AL HILAL?
The ex-Real Madrid player will hope to stay in Europe as he would like to play in the top leagues to keep his place in the French national team with the World Cup coming in less than a year. Al-Hilal will hope that with newly-appointed manager Simone Inzaghi, they might finally be able to convince Hernandez to join the club.
