He said on the Rich Eisen Show: "I wanted to find a town first, before we want looking for a club. I remember the moment it happened, I was sitting with Kaitlin watching television. I'd learned about relegation and promotion and when I learned that I realised you could have a team with incredible history that could be relegated down into oblivion. So we wanted to find a town most importantly that fit with the ethos I most understand which was working class Philadephia. We found a few but Wrexham was the one that jumped out at us because of the history of the club.
They've been around since 1864, they've had great success but they had fallen on hard times and we knew if we could shine the spotlight on them, invest in them and make the story about them that people would resonate with that."
