'I'm ready for a new challenge' - Marcus Rashford reveals desire to LEAVE Man Utd in bombshell interview following derby snub from Ruben Amorim

Rashford has fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford and was dropped from the matchday squad for the Manchester derby on Sunday. There have been suggestions of the Red Devils planning to offload him in the January transfer window to start a 'cultural reboot' at the club and improve standards that have slipped in recent years.

Amid speculation over his future at his boyhood club, the forward has now revealed that he is prepared to exit his beloved Old Trafford and accept a 'new challenge' in his career. After graduating from United's youth academy, Rashford made his senior professional debut in 2015 under then-manager Louis van Gaal.

In a chat with journalist Henry Winter, the 27-year-old said: "For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave it's going to be 'no hard feelings'. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.

"If I know that a situation is already bad I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person. When I leave I'll make a statement and it will be from me."

He added: "I’m halfway through my career. I don’t expect my peak to be now. I've had nine years so far in the Premier League and that’s taught me a lot, that’s helped me grow as a player and as a person.

"So I don't have any regrets from the last nine years. I won’t have any regrets going forward because I take things day by day and sometimes bad things happen, and sometimes good things happen. I just try and keep a fine balance. 100%. That's my mentality."

When asked if he would always be a red at heart, Rashford quickly responded: "Yes! 100%. 100%."

Ruben Amorim's side will be back in action this Thursday as they take on Tottenham Hotspur in a Carabao Cup quarter-final clash. It remains to be seen if the Portuguese coach will decide to include Rashford in the matchday squad.
