Okafor's potential move to Leeds comes after he spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan with Napoli, where he won the Serie A title. The Switzerland international, who joined Milan from RB Salzburg in 2023, has scored a total of seven goals in 43 Serie A appearances for Milan and Napoli. He has been in impressive form during Milan’s pre-season, scoring three goals and featuring in their recent Coppa Italia win over Bari. While Bologna were previously in talks for his signature, they failed to reach an agreement with Milan.

Leeds will now push to finalise a transfer fee with Milan to complete the deal for Okafor. The club, who have already signed Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha, are keen to add further attacking options ahead of the transfer deadline. Leeds begin their Premier League campaign with a home fixture against Everton on August 18. Okafor could join the squad in time for the trip to face Arsenal on August 23 or the home match against Newcastle United on August 30 if the transfer is completed quickly.
