    THE BIGGER PICTURE

City are aware that there is no dearth of suitors for Phillips. However, they demand that his £135,000-a-week wages must be borne in full by his potential suitors if he is signed on loan in the winter window.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

The Hammers have the financial muscle to pull off the deal as they have lightened their wage burden after shipping off Thilo Kehrer to join Monaco on loan. Said Benrahma could also leave as he is racking up significant interest from France with Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais both keen to get him.

Whereas, Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson also confirmed that the Eagles could "push ourselves forward" for the player if he is available on loan. Hodgson made the comments before his side's 1-0 loss to Everton in their FA Cup third-round replay at Goodison Park.
