The former Spain international reportedly shares a very close bond with the Reds and thus could make a move to Merseyside ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

45-year-old Slot, who has been in charge of the Eredivisie side since 2021, guided them to the league title last season and also helped them reach the final of the inaugural edition of the Europa Conference League where they lost to Jose Mourinho's AS Roma.
