Shelbourne and Linfield meet at Tolka Park in Dublin on Thursday in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League play-off round.
This is a high-stakes rematch, as Shelbourne recently knocked Linfield out of the Champions League qualifiers in July, winning 2-1 over two legs. Since then, both sides have strengthened.
Linfield, now in much sharper match condition following European fixtures against Zalgiris and Vikingur, are expected to be more dynamic and physically ready compared to their last meeting with the League of Ireland champions.

Team news & squads
Shelbourne team news
Shelbourne manager Joey O’Brien highlighted the greater match fitness and experience Linfield bring this time, and both camps spoke of the rare opportunity for group stage football, something neither expected at the start of their European campaigns.
For the home side, there is one significant absentee: goalkeeper Conor Kearns remains out after suffering an injury in the FAI Cup loss to St Patrick's Athletic. The Shels are otherwise at near full strength, with recent European outings further testing and hardening the squad.
Linfield team news
Linfield, coached by David Healy, arrive on the back of a comeback aggregate win over Vikingur. They have injury concerns with Euan East, Dane McCullough, Alex Gorrin, Cameron Ballantyne, Jamie Mulgrew, and Robbie McDaid unavailable. Notably, key midfielder Chris Shields, suspended for the earlier July meeting, is back and could make his 60th European appearance, adding significant experience to the midfield.
Linfield have benefitted from domestic fixture adjustments to ensure squad freshness and are likely to field a lineup similar to the one that defeated Vikingur, with attacking partnership Kieran Offord and Matthew Fitzpatrick in good form.
