Barca have been linked with a number of centre-backs in January due to injuries suffered by Thomas Vermaelen and Samuel Umtiti.
Everton to pursue permanent Gomes deal
Everton director of football Marcel Brands says the club will attempt to sign midfielder Andre Gomes on a permanent deal from Barcelona.
Portgual international Gomes has impressed in a blue shirt since joining on a season-long loan from Barca on transfer deadline day in August.
"He adapted so quickly, he's a very smart guy and I've known him quite a long time and always liked him as a player," Brands was quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo. "I'm so happy he is here and our biggest concern is now keeping him."
