    WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

@PurefootballX wrote on X: "Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been embarrassing since taking over Manchester United."

@Gideoomatic added: "Kept Ten Hag for longer than they should have, only to sack him after derailing the season. Chased Ashworth for almost a year just to be let off 5 months in. Fans aren't happy with hike in ticket price. INEOS."

@SmnLlyd5 said: "Perhaps Sir Jim Ratcliffe can further raise children’s ticket prices to cover the cost of Dan Ashworth’s time at the club?"

@Laurennnn0607 added: "They spent longer chasing Ashworth than they did employing him. At what point does ‘ruthless decision maker’ just become ‘incompetent, indecisive and cruel fool'".

@MUFC_redarmy99 said: "Jim Ratcliffe: ‘Money is tight, we’ve got to sack ordinary staff members and raise ticket prices’. Also Jim Ratcliffe: Spends £20m on sacking Ten Hag, his coaches and Ashworth after 5 months…"

@JamesMcManus1 added: "That isn't very marginal gainsy of them. Time to admit INEOS are a shambles."

@Thelarrytaylor wrote: "Absolutely embarrassing. First ticket price hikes now this move suggests instability and ineptness by INEOS. The cracks are starting…."

With United a circus off the pitch and a tricky run of games starting from now until January, @MarkIrakponweri said: "Man united may be at the brink of relegation at the end this date."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Ashworth was heavily involved in United's £200 million ($254m) summer spend but the club have struggled immensely this season, sacking Erik ten Hag, and now sit 13th in the Premier League table. On Saturday, they lost 3-2 at home to Nottingham Forest.
