    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Roma owner Dan Friedkin completed a takeover of Everton by purchasing a 98.8 per cent stake in the club from Farhad Moshiri in December 2024. The multi-club ownership situation could allow Everton to purchase Wesley and send him on loan to Roma as a way to circumvent UEFA’s Financial Fair Play.

  • THE ROMA SITUATION

Roma appointed former Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini as the successor to Claudio Ranieri, who took up a role in Roma’s management. One of the key positions in Gasperini’s style of play in wing back and this has been Roma’s main focus for reinforcement.
