Lionel Messi's three goal contributions leads Inter Miami to road thumping of New England Revolution in front of 65,000+ fans

After conceding just 40 seconds into the match in stunning fashion, Miami responded fantastically, earning a brilliant result on the road.

Thomas Chancalay put the Revolution up in the first minute, beating an out-of-position Drake Callender with a lobbed effort. However, they couldn't hold their own against the Herons, with Lionel Messi running the show from that point.

The Argentine found the back of the net in the 32nd and 68th minute, securing three points for Inter Miami. The first goal came off a lovely through ball from Robert Taylor and the second from his longtime friend Sergio Busquets.

The game was gone with Messi's second, but Miami didn't stop. Two late goals, one from U.S. international Benjamin Cremaschi and one from Luis Suarez, sealed the deal in a 4-1 victory.

A crowd of 65,612 filed into Gillette Stadium on Saturday to see Lionel Messiand Inter Miami take on the Revolution, setting the single-game attendance record for the New England-based club.

The Revolution boss was already in hot water heading into Saturday's contest, with just one win on the season. Saturday wasn't a change for the Revs, but rather another unimpressive performance. It feels as though his time at the helm of the Eastern Conference side may be coming to an end, sooner than later.

The Herons take on the New York Red Bulls at Chase Stadium next Saturday. They'll look to turn the result around on their home turf after suffering a 4-0 thrashing against RBNY on the road earlier this year.
