    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Kane is closing in on elusive silverware this season, having failed to break his duck last term, and is ready for a Bundesliga title party. There have been suggestions that he could return to his homeland after claiming a winners’ medal - allowing him to bridge what remains a 47-goal gap to Shearer on the all-time Premier League list.

  • WHAT DIETMAR HAMANN SAID

Ex-Liverpool, Manchester City and Bayern midfielder Dietmar Hamann has told Leo Vegas when asked about the chances of Kane heading out of the Allianz Arena: "I’m not sure Harry has the record in mind because I don’t think he would’ve joined Bayern Munich in the first place.

"It’s a big thing for strikers, these records, but if he wants to break Alan Shearer’s record then he has to leave this summer. But from what I hear, he is very settled in Munich.

"I’ve read rumours of Manchester United wanting him but he’s a London boy and if he is to go back, I think it would be one of the London clubs. I’m not sure if any of the London clubs are interested and obviously there’s a lot of turmoil at Manchester United.

"I’d be very surprised if he leaves because he’s very settled here, he will win his first title this season and with Bayern Munich you always have a chance to win the Champions League. Maybe in the next year or two, there’s a chance to do that as well."

    DID YOU KNOW?

Hamann added on Kane’s pursuit of multiple trophies, with the 31-year-old expected to want more than one major honour on his CV: "The first trophy is the most important one. In an ideal situation, you win it in your early 20s but he was very loyal to Tottenham. The closest he got to winning the title when he was there was the season when Leicester won it.

"The best team always wins the league, and Harry is an integral part of the best team this season. His career is not getting any longer, he might have two or three years left so he has got to hurry if he wants to win a few more."

  • WHAT NEXT FOR HARRY KANE?

Kane is under contract in Germany through to the summer of 2027, so has no need to consider another change of scenery. He has maintained remarkable individual standards across his time with Bayern and has 80 goals to his name through 88 appearances in all competitions.
