'Can't sit there and sulk' - Harry Kane outlines what Bayern Munich must do to salvage their season after firing Thomas Tuchel's struggling side to crucial victory over RB Leipzig

Kane scored a brace to earn Bayern a vitally important victory over RB Leipzig and ensure the points difference with Bayer Leverkusen remained just eight. Although the gap remains substantial, the English striker is hoping his last-gasp winner can spark the German champions into life and begin a winning streak. If Bayern are to catch the unbeaten Leverkusen, they will have to perform miracles.

Speaking after his late heroics, Kane said: "We need to keep doing what we're doing. It was good to win this game but we need to go on a run until the end of the year.

"We had to show a reaction after last week. We have a responsibility to the club and our manager, we can't just sit there and sulk about it."

Kane has been the key player for Thomas Tuchel's side this season and has lived up to his weighty price tag, in spite of his team-mates' underperformance. Bayern once again turned to the forward to bail them out of trouble and his late winner proved Tuchel's reliance on his striker. If Bayern are to concede their crown to Leverkusen, it won't be without Kane's fight.

The English striker moved to Bayern dreaming of breaking his trophy duck. Yet, with Bayern 1-0 down to Lazio in the Champions League last 16 and struggling in the league, Kane may have to raise his levels even higher if they are to secure silverware this term.
