  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Reyna's days as a Borussia Dortmund player seem to be numbered, with the United States international agreeing to a move to Parma in Serie A, according to Sky. However, Dortmund have not been convinced with the Italian side's offer, who have sent a paltry €6 million (£5.2m/$7m) proposal.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Reyna has already given his green light to a move to Parma, with a personal agreement in place. However, Dortmund are not pleased with the Crociati's first offer. Per the report, the two clubs have entered talks to discuss potential revised terms for the operation and find a solution, with the German side keen on offloading the 22-year-old attacking midfielder.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Reyna was once touted as the next big thing as he followed in the footsteps of fellow American star Christian Pulisic, who also played for Dortmund. In the 2020-21 season, Reyna clocked over 2,000 minutes, but has since been on a downward trajectory. Injuries have played their part, but the player has also failed to produce top quality displays on a consistent basis. He was handed a meagre 12 minutes of action at the recent Club World Cup.

    WHAT NEXT FOR GIO REYNA?

Reyna will be hoping that his proposed move to Parma goes through without any hiccups, with the hope that he can reinvigorate his career in the Italian top-flight. Additionally, he'll be eyeing a spot in Mauricio Pochettino's USMNT squad for the 2026 World Cup, which will be played in his home country.
