  • Blackburn Rovers also keen on signing him
  • McGuire unlikely to continue at Orlando City
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

McGuire had flown in from the US on the January transfer window deadline day to hold talks with Sheffield Wednesday but he later changed his mind and decided to join Blackburn Rovers. His move to The Riversiders, though, did not materialise due to a clerical error on the club's part and he had to return to Orlando City.

Now, The Sun reports that The Owls continue to remain interested in signing the 23-year-old forward and will go after him if they manage to remain in the Championship this season.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Orland City are currently in talks to sign Atalanta City forward Luis Muriel which has further raised doubts over McGuire's place in the club's starting lineup. His agent recently went to social media asking if another MLS club would want him. This has further complicated his situation at The Lions.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

The former Lane United player had an impressive outing in the MLS last season having scored 13 goals and provided two assists in 29 games for his club. He made his international debut for the USMNT during a friendly game against Slovenia last month.
