  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Al-Nassr have drawn up a list of summer targets and are keen to strengthen their midfield by landing Caicedo, according to The Telegraph. The midfielder is said to be the Saudi Pro League side's "dream" target but would cost at least £100m. Caicedo joined Chelsea from Brighton in 2023 on an eight-year contract after the Blues broke the British transfer record by splashing out £115m ($146m) on the Ecuadorian.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Al-Nassr are no strangers to splashing out big money on high-profile players. The Saudi side have already brought in Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and Aymeric Laporte, as well as luring Jhon Duran away from Aston Villa in the winter transfer window in a €70m (£59m/$73m) transfer. Yet despite all the big-money buys, the club still sit down in third place in the league standings, eight points behind table-toppers Al-Ittihad.

  • TELL ME MORE

Despite Al-Nassr's interest, Chelsea are said to have "no plans" to sell Caicedo, according to reporter Ben Jacobs. The Blues are said to value the midfielder "significantly higher" than the £115m ($146m) they paid to bring him in. However, Al-Nassr could still be set for a "big summer." The Saudi side want to renew Ronaldo's contract and are also hoping to sign another wide attacker.
