CBS Avengers assemble! Micah Richards subjected to Kate Scott-style dig as Sky Sports reunite Champions League dream team for Premier League coverage

The former Manchester City defender is often the butt of introductory jibes when covering the Champions League for an American audience. Richards laughs off any jokes made at his expense as he takes on punditry duty alongside Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher.

Said trio have been reunited as City prepare to face Arsenal in the Premier League – with Gunners great Henry selected for his ties to the north London outfit, while Richards ticks boxes for the Blues. Liverpool icon Carragher joins the panel as an impartial neutral.

As Sky Sports’ coverage on another Super Sunday got underway, host David Jones opened the show with: “What a trio we have assembled for the job this afternoon. So good, I can’t believe no-one has ever thought of this before! Thierry Henry, Arsenal Invincible and World Cup winner. Jamie Carragher, Champions League winner. And Micah Richards." After a pause full of laughter, Jones added: "Premier League title winner.”

Richards, Carragher and Henry will be back alongside Scott when Champions League action returns to CBS Sports in the knockout phase play-off round of that competition. City will be facing Real Madrid there, with a place in the last 16 up for grabs, while Celtic are set to take on Harry Kane and Bayern Munich.
