  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Ex-Manchester City and England star Richards, along with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, has thoroughly enjoyed covering the European exploits of French side Brest in the 2024-25 campaign. The CBS Sports studio has descended into chaos on a regular basis as a result of Brest-themed quips.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Ligue 1 outfit are delighted to be putting smiles on faces in the United States, with a special gift being sent to Richards. They have also passed along a thank you message, which reads: “Dear friends of CBS. Many thanks for your close attention to Brest’s performances since the start of the Champions League. We all enjoy watching your many laughs in the studio. So we’ve made a special ‘Brest lover’ shirt for Micah. We couldn’t resist giving a Stade Brestois shirt to our own legend Thierry Henry, to whom we send our warmest greetings.”

  • DID YOU KNOW?

World Cup-winning Frenchman and Arsenal great Henry looked happy with his No.14 jersey. Richards was quick to don his “Brest lover” offering as Carragher chimed in with: “We’ve always been big fans of yours and we always will be.”

    WHAT MICAH RICHARDS SAID

Richards could not resist another playful jibe, as he asked: “What happens when they play Nice?” Henry had seen enough by that point and, with a smile on his face, took to leaving his seat on the punditry panel - which is chaired by Kate Scott - to fill one by himself in a different part of the studio.

  • WHAT NEXT?

Brest remain on course to reach the Champions League last 16, with a 13-point return from seven continental fixtures leaving them 13th in the table as things stand – which would be enough to secure a place in the knockout phase play-offs.
