Pierre Sage's future at Crystal Palace is hanging by a thread after Jean-Philippe Mateta's 13th-minute red card paved the way for a 2-0 defeat at Tottenham. Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has issued a stern warning to his players, demanding an end to the "silly goals" that have derailed their flawless start to the Premier League season. The Italian coach expressed his frustration after individual defensive lapses proved fatal for the second time in a week.

The defender was at fault for Morgan Rogers' opener and was then sent off for the foul that gave Cole Palmer a penalty, and the former United goalkeeper is now convinced that Martinez is simply not a suitable player for the club.

Manchester United legend Ashley Cole has raised serious concerns regarding Michael Carrick's future at Old Trafford, suggesting the squad has lost faith in their manager. The Red Devils' dismal form continued on Saturday as they suffered a demoralising 2-0 home defeat to Chelsea, extending their winless streak to nine matches.
