Ross Barkley and Andres Garcia are out with injuries, while Alex Moreno, Lewis Dobbin and Leander Dendoncker are expected to leave the club. New signing Yasin Ozcan has already gone out on loan.
Roma team news
Manager Gian Piero Gasperini is likely to pick either Evan Ferguson or Artem Dovbyk to lead the attack, as Paulo Dybala is still regaining full fitness.
New signings include center-back Daniele Ghilardi from Hellas Verona, who joins fellow summer arrivals Wesley, Devis Vasquez and Neil El Aynaoui.
In terms of injuries, Evan N'Dicka, who had a thigh strain against Lens, and Matias Soule, who had a slight ankle sprain, are both expected to recover in time to play at the Bescot.
