Jamie Vardy has refused to get drawn into the Riyad Mahrez transfer saga as Leicester prepare to deal with more bids this summer.

England international Vardy has linked up brilliantly with the Algerian for the past few seasons and transfer interest in Mahrez has been plentiful since he played a key role in Leicester’s 2015-16 Premier League title-winning team.

Mahrez handed in a transfer request before the close of the January transfer window but, after he was denied a move to Manchester City, he began to miss training and games .

He has been back in the Leicester team since then, but it is expected there will be more interest in the summer, with Mahrez still an option for champions City.

"I think it's happened in the last four transfer windows, so we just get on with it," Vardy told  Sky Sports News,  when asked if he suspects another club will attempt to sign the winger.

"What happens will happen, we'll have to wait and see, obviously, until the transfer window."

Vardy has also dismissed rumours that the Leicester squad are unhappy with boss Claude Puel’s leadership.

The French manager’s tactics and man-management style has led to questions about his long-term future at the club, but Vardy insists the players fully support Puel, and the evidence is on the pitch and at the training ground.

“There is no truth in that at all,” he said.

“If you look at us in training every day, and in the games, you can see the players are trying to implement exactly what the manager wants us to do.

“So, all I can say about that is no truth whatsoever.

“You can tell he is thoughtful about his football but, behind the scenes, on the training field he is telling you exactly what he wants you to be doing, what we should be doing and every so often he gets involved as well with a few saucy challenges.”
