Red Bulls sign Panama international right back Michael Amir Murillo on loan

The young right back will compete for minutes on the right side of Jesse Marsch's squad.

The New York Red Bulls have announced the signing of right back Michael Amir Murillo on a one-year loan.

Murillo, 21, joins from Panamanian side San Francisco FC, where he graduated from the youth ranks to make his first-team debut in 2014. He has gone on to make 42 first-team appearances and has scored three goals.

“Michael is a player that we identified with our scouting network and have watched closely,” Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch said in a news release. “He fits the way we want to play and will be a good addition to our group.”

Internationally, Murillo has nine caps and one goal for Panama since making his senior team debut in March 2016.
