MLS Cup sells out in three minutes

Demand for tickets for the league's showpiece, which takes place Saturday, was extremely high.

Major League Soccer has announced that tickets for the 2016 MLS Cup sold out in three minutes on Monday after going on sale to the general public.

The match features Toronto FC hosting the Seattle Sounders at BMO Field on Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on FOX, UniMas, TSN and RDS.

Tickets for the game were distributed through Toronto FC’s season ticket holder pre-sale, the Sounders' away game allotment and the public sale, which took place Monday.
