Juventus v Milan Betting: Allegri's side set to shade a high-scoring cup clash

Holders Juventus meet Milan in what promises to be a fascinating Coppa Italia quarter-final clash between the teams in Turin. Massimiliano Allegri's men secured the silverware against the Rossoneri at the end of last season, claiming a narrow 1-0 win at the end of a nerve-shredding 120 minutes in Rome.

Juventus have been utterly dominant on the domestic scene in recent seasons, winning the Scudetto in each of the previous five campaigns, while the Old Lady have completed a domestic double in both of the past two seasons.

Furthermore, Juve boast a remarkable record on home soil; the Italian champions are unbeaten in 39 matches on home turf and, as such, Allegri's men are chalked up as 4/9 (1.44) favourites to march on against Milan.

Vincenzo Montella's side, though, will feel that they have a chance of causing an upset; indeed, Milan had the measure of the team from Turin when they met in Serie A earlier in the season, claiming a memorable 1-0 victory. Bet365 offer 7/1 (8.0) that the visitors send Juventus crashing out of the Coppa Italia in 90 minutes, while the same firm go 3/1 (4.0) that the match remains deadlocked at the end of normal time - a selection that would have landed when Montella's team won the Super Cup after a penalty shoot-out in Doha last month.

Another tight tussle is possible when this rivalry is renewed and the odds compilers offer 19/20 (1.95) that fewer than three goals are scored, while it's 4/5 (1.80) for either side to fail to find the net.

Juventus have scored more than two goals in six of their last nine wins and bet365 go 2/1 (3.0) that home side get amongst the goals again, while they can be backed at 11/8 (2.38) with the same firm to win to nil against Montella's men - a selection that would have landed in four of Juve's last five home games.

After failing to qualify for European competition last term, Milan have redoubled their efforts this season, but their old frailties were exposed in a 2-1 defeat against Napoli on Saturday night, with Maurizio Sarri's side scoring twice inside the opening 10 minutes of the match.

If there is any such weakness on this occasion, Juventus can be trusted to take full advantage and, given their tremendous record on home soil, the 4/9 (1.44) quote for the Old Lady to win inside 90 minutes looks to be a solid, albeit skinny, selection.

There is potential for goals here; Milan have scored in 10 of their last 12 games, while Juventus have been on target in each of their last 16 fixtures.

Allegri's men can edge past Milan but they may not have things all their own way and, so, it is bet365's 17/20 (1.85) quote for both teams to score and Juventus to win that represents the best bet ahead of Wednesday's Coppa Italia clash.
