'All day long' - Wrexham star James McClean backed to beat Jake Paul in boxing match as 'nobody would want to fight' Red Dragons' promotion-winning captain

Former Republic of Ireland international McClean is no stranger to the ring. He often posts pictures and videos on social media of his regular sparring sessions. At 36 years of age, he continues to keep himself in peak physical condition.

McClean has also never been the type of character to back down from a challenge - with the Irishman famed for his taunting of opposition supporters - and would happily lace up a pair of gloves if presented with an opportunity to take in a competitive fight.

It may be that he is given a chance by Misfits Boxing at some stage, with KSI involved in that sporting venture alongside the Paul brothers Jake and Logan. McClean would hold nothing back if lining up against Jake Paul, whose last fight saw him take on former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

Welsh tactician Pulis, who is keeping a close eye on all things Wrexham, told OLBG when asked to pick out the one player at SToK Racecourse that nobody would want to tangle with: "James McClean. Nobody, nobody would want to fight James McClean in the boxing ring. I've seen him at West Brom. He has got the fastest hands of any professional footballer I've seen. He was on the bag and on the gloves.

"James, without question. Like I say, I've got a lot of time for James. He mishandles himself at times in respect of what he says and what he does. But he's a great, great, great kid. I've got a lot of time for him.

"I've seen him with the gloves on. You wouldn't want to go in a ring against him. Against Jake Paul? McClean all day long."
