‘Who is Kylian Mbappe?’ - Real Madrid president Florentino Perez's response to questions of PSG superstar & Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies becoming ‘Galacticos’ at Santiago Bernabeu

The Blancos president is famed for his recruitment policy that sees the best players on the planet lined up for transfers to Santiago Bernabeu. There is no sign of that approach being tweaked heading towards the summer of 2024.

Real are said to have an agreement in place that will see World Cup winner Mbappe join them as a free agent when his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expires. Bayern Munich left-back Davies is another being lined up for a big-money move.

Perez, though, is giving little away when it comes to high-profile signings. After seeing a fan tell him “you have to bring Davies and Mbappe - with them, we are going to win everything”, Perez jokingly responded by saying: “Who is Mbappe? Who is Davies?”

Real are reported to have a lucrative contract ready for Mbappe to sign, while he could be joined in the Spanish capital by Canada international Davies. He has not agreed fresh terms at Bayern, leading to talk of Madrid lining up a €40 million (£34m/$44m) approach for the 23-year-old’s signature.
