A new documentary series on Wayne Rooney may be in the works as television companies aim to capitalise on his wife Coleen's return to the spotlight.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Coleen is currently starring in I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and TV bosses are looking to cash-in, The Daily Mail says, by making a series about Rooney that would be similar to Netflix's ‘Beckham’, which was released last year.

It was reported this week that Rooney's first season as Plymouth manager will be the subject of a fly-on-the-wall documentary in the style of Disney+'s successful Welcome to Wrexham series.
