  • WHAT HAPPENED?

After Wrexham beat Forest Green Rovers to secure their second straight promotion, Reynolds revealed the lengths he had gone to for McElhenney's 47th birthday. Dressed in his iconic Deadpool outfit, he explained how he financed an expedition to recover Wrexham Lager from the ruins of the Titanic - which was actually on the ship during its maiden voyage in April 1912. The Hollywood actor admitted the mission failed but joked they found an image of his fellow actor posing naked with a heart necklace, reminiscent of the one the character Rose wore in the 1997 Titanic film. That print is now being shown in the Ty Pawb gallery in Wrexham.

In an Instagram video post, he wrote: "It felt like Rob’s birthday was today (Saturday) but apparently it’s tomorrow (Sunday)? I’m posting because it’s now the 14th in Wrexham and I’ll bet people are still up! Happy Birthday, @robmcelhenney, and LFG, @wrexham_afc!!! Thanks to @vistaprint & @TyPawb."

  • WHAT RYAN REYNOLDS SAID

He said in the social media post: “Today is April 14, the birthday of my beloved co-chairman Mr Rob McElhenney. It also happens to be the day the Titanic went down."

Reynolds added: “Please, don’t embarrass him [McElhenney] by going to vistaprint.com/wrexham to purchase a gift and share items customised in all of Rob’s splendour and soft, delicate chest hair. And don’t put it all over social media, nor should you visit the Ty Pawb gallery in Wrexham, where this picture will actually hang among genuine works of art. Just do as I am - simply wish Rob a happy birthday. We’ll see you in League One."
