The former England international has not made a competitive appearance of any kind since February 2023, during a forgettable loan spell at Besiktas. He made just 13 outings for Everton prior to reaching the end of his contract last summer.

Dele continued to train with the Toffees after seeing them nurse him through several injury setbacks, but jumped at the chance to make a completely fresh start after being approached by Como and their ex-Arsenal star manager Cesc Fabregas towards the end of 2024.

After proving his worth in training, Dele has been handed an 18-month contract. The 28-year-old was put through his paces in the gym before passing a medical, with there confidence in Italy that he can rediscover a lost spark.

Como have used a number of Dele’s most memorable goals for Spurs to highlight what the midfielder can become. It remains to be seen when a debut for the Serie A outfit will be taken in, with a spectator role being filled at present.
