USWNT player ratings vs Argentina: American soccer has a new star! Jaedyn Shaw steals the show again with brace as Alex Morgan and Lindsey Horan score to complete rout

If you were among the few who hadn't quite been convinced that Jaedyn Shaw had arrived, you're surely among the believers now. You have to be, right? It's now crystal clear for all to see: the USWNT have a diamond on their hands.

Shaw was the clear star of the show during Friday night's 4-0 win over Argentina, netting a first-half brace to put the game beyond all doubt before it even got going. She was joined on the scoresheet by familiar faces in Alex Morgan and Lindsey Horan, both of whom had much-needed big games. Make no mistake, though, this was Shaw's night, and this might just be her year.

With the Olympics looming, the question has been what the USWNT can do with Shaw to get her involved. The question is now what the U.S. would look like without her playing a meaningful role.

She's just 19 years old, but she isn't going anywhere. Shaw has arrived. Good luck stopping her now.

    Goalkeeper & Defense

    Casey Murphy (6/10):

A few nervy moments, but got the clean sheet, which is all that matters.

    Crystal Dunn (7/10):

Combined well with those around her. Definitely had some good moments on that left-hand side.

    Tierna Davidson (7/10):

No real worries defensively and moved the ball well when she had it at her feet. A good showing.

    Naomi Girma (6/10):

Uncharacteristically got caught on the ball once, which felt like a real shock considering how little it happens. Other than that, no real concerns.

    Casey Krueger (8/10):

Fantastic on the right-hand side. Got a deserved assist on the third goal, but her game was so much bigger than that one moment.

    Midfield

    Rose Lavelle (7/10):

Fantastic ball in for Shaw's second. The USWNT midfield is just so much better with Lavelle fit and firing.

    Lindsey Horan (8/10):

Absolutely bossed the midfield. Got the goal from the penalty spot to put an exclamation mark on a big performance. Would have had another spectacular one as well if she wasn't a half-step offside. When she's on her game, she completely dominates all facets.

    Korbin Albert (7/10):

Such a tidy performance. The lone holdover from the first game, Albert looked so, so comfortable next to Horan and Lavelle.

    Attack

    Trinity Rodman (6/10):

Tried things as always, but they didn't quite come off. It happens.

    Alex Morgan (7/10):

A little bit lucky with her looping header, but she deserves that little bit of good fortune. Two goals in two games now... Morgan is all the way back.

    Jaedyn Shaw (9/10):

Absolutely incredible. Got her two goals, both fantastic finishes. She's young, yes, but she's ready. There's no keeping her out of the USWNT now.

    Subs & Manager

    Sophia Smith (6/10):

Came on at half-time and helped the USWNT maintain their dominance.

    Emily Sonnett (6/10):

Nearly got a goal, but her primary contribution was attitude. Helped the U.S. avoid some dark arts before Horan's penalty.

    Emily Fox (7/10):

Tough to replace Krueger considering how good she was, but the U.S. didn't drop off much once Fox got ont he field.

    Jenna Nighswonger (7/10):

Drew a penalty as her shot hit an Argentina hand. Overall solid on that left-hand side.

    Sam Coffey (N/A):

Came on with the game already gone. Not much to do.

    Twila Kilgore (8/10):

Rotated heavily and got a 4-0 win, which is great for team chemistry and morale. A perfect start to the tournament.
