'You piece of sh*t' - USMNT star Christian Pulisic targeted by vile death threats for role in Lazio red cards in fractious AC Milan victory

Pulisic was heavily involved as Milan secured a 1-0 win in a heated affair at the Stadio Olimpico, in which Lazio had three players sent off. The United States international became the target of abuse as he got into a challenge with Luca Pellegrini which saw the Lazio man dismissed. In the dying seconds of the game, Pulisic tangled with Matteo Guendouzi, who shoved him away and was shown a red card, while the ex-Chelsea man was booked.

After the game, Lazio fans flooded Pulisic's social media with abuse, according to Calciomercato, with messages reading: "Die of cancer you piece of sh*t, maybe you’ll explode with your family", "I don’t wish you to die, but instead suffer slowly every day" and "you should spend all your money on medicine, your mother is dead".

After Pellegrini's dismissal just before the hour mark, Noah Okafor went on to score the winning goal for the visitors in the 88th minute. Lazio collapsed further from then, with Adam Marusic being given his marching orders in stoppage time before Guendouzi and Pulisic were shown their cards.

Pulisic will hope to shake off the abuse and threats and maintain his focus on AC Milan's upcoming Europa League tie against Slavia Prague on Thursday. The Rossoneri welcome Czech club to San Siro for the first leg of the last-16 tie.
