The iconic defender has drawn interest from clubs in both Saudi Arabia and the MLS and wants to find a resolution before the end of the season. Having been a stalwart in the Sevilla defence in 2023/24, Ramos is seeking a new, improved deal to remain at his boyhood club. However, it remains to be seen if the Spanish club can offer terms more attractive than the luxuries afforded in Saudi Arabia or the United States.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Sevilla's financial struggles mean they cannot realistically offer Ramos a financial package anywhere close to those suitors abroad, however. Ramos turned down such interest before to sign for Sevilla in September last year, but according to AS, he does not want to wait for a club that long again. At 38-years-old the defender has a decision to make on what may be his final club in a distinguished, trophy-laden career.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Ramos has played 20 games in La Liga for the side from Andalusia this season and even chipped in with three goals. The defender returned to his first ever club after 18 years away - 16 spent at Real Madrid and two at Paris Saint-Germain.

    WHAT NEXT FOR RAMOS?

Keen to resolve his future before the end of the season, Ramos will use the final eight games of the campaign to prove his worth to Sevilla once again. If the Spanish club feel they cannot afford to keep Ramos, he will then decide on the many lucrative offers on the table which could be between a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.
