    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Wrexham are hoping to have another trophy tilt for their award-winning documentary to cover, having previously endured Wembley heartache in the 2022 FA Trophy final as their A-list co-owners watched on in a VIP lounge.

  • WHAT DARREN FERGUSON SAID

The Red Dragons must overcome Peterborough in order to book a “Hollywood” date with Birmingham, but Posh – who are led by Darren Ferguson – intend to dash those dreams. The son of legendary Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has told the Peterborough Telegraph: “Playing at Wembley is a big carrot for the club and getting back there would give us all a lift. You can’t hide that fact. I will just tell the players who I do pick to go out there and enjoy the occasion.

“It will be a decent crowd and the atmosphere will be good so it’s a game we will look forward to. Everyone wants a ‘Hollywood’ final so it’s up to us to try and stop it happening!”

WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM & BIRMINGHAM?

Birmingham are looking to give Brady and Co multiple causes for celebration in 2024-25, as they sit six points clear at the top of the League One table. Wrexham find themselves in third, three points adrift of the automatic promotion places, with neither team allowing the EFL Trophy to become a distraction.
