Obi-Martin was one of Arsenal's hottest young talents but has confirmed his departure from the club in a post that has left fans disappointed and furious with the teenager. • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Arsenal had been eager for Obi-Martin to continue with the club but ended up walking away from negotiations. The Gunners had offered the youngster a place in their Under-18 squad with the opportunity to play up for the Under-21s when possible and potentially even train with the first team, according to the Daily Mail. However, Obi-Martin wanted to go straight to the Under-21s, while there were also disagreements over money. The teenager was said to be asking for an amount that was "very far away from what Arsenal were willing to pay."

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Obi-Martin scored 29 goals in just 17 league matches for Arsenal's Under-18s last season. He made headlines back in February by netting 10 times in a single game for the Gunners' Under-16 side against Liverpool.

Obi-Martin has bags of potential and may not lack for suitors after walking away from Arsenal. United appear to be in pole position to land the highly-rated 16-year-old in what would be seen as a real coup for the Red Devils.
