  • WHAT HAPPENED?

City looked like they were going to secure a hard-fought win at the Gtech Community Stadium on Tuesday after Phil Foden's brace, but Yoane Wissa and Christian Norgaard struck late on to ensure honours were even in a thrilling Premier League clash. That late collapse prompted some football supporters to suggest Guardiola should manager League One side Wycombe Wanderers instead.

    WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

@geesum wrote on X: "That was on Pep Guardiola, he didn't manage that game at all."

@AdamJoseph____ tweeted: "Manchester City giving away a 2-0 lead in the last 10 minutes? Perhaps Pep Guardiola & co should just throw another £200m at the problem. Buy your way out of it. What a genius, a revolutionary."

@stevegrayfs commented: "At this rate, Pep Guardiola to Wycombe might have some plausibility."

@Tim_Citeh put: "Pep Guardiola is to blame for this draw. Im tired his obsession with Gundogan. Pep really wants an unnecessary agenda against Gundogan for no reason. Just stop playing old man Gundogan."

And @Fabrizi7986238 added: "Haaland has scored a lot of goals, granted. But Jesus Christ his lack of effort and work rate is astounding at times. I don’t know how Guardiola lets him do it. He never let Aguero get away with it?"

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

While City are now four games unbeaten in the Premier League, Brentford's late comeback once again highlighted that Guardiola's team are a shadow of seasons gone by. They are 12 points behind league leaders Liverpool and the Reds have a game in hand.
