Revealed: Omar Marmoush's staggering pay rise as he pens mega contract to complete €80m Man City transfer

Fabrizio Romano revealed on Friday that Manchester City have agreed to sign Eintracht Frankfurt's topscorer Omar Marmoush in the January transfer window. According to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, City have agreed on a €80 million (£67.1m/$82m) fee, out of which they will pay €75m (£63m/$77m) upfront and €5m in add-ons.

The report also adds that the Egyptian forward will see a staggering rise in his pay as he is set to earn €16m (£13.5m/$16m) gross per year and €10m (£8m/$10m) net. His current wage sees him earn just €2m gross. He will pen a deal that will keep him at the Etihad until the summer of 2029.

After agreeing on a deal with the Cityzens, Eintracht Frankfurt omitted their star forward from their matchday squad for their Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund on Friday. Despite missing Marmoush, the German side picked up a comfortable 2-0 win.

Marmoush’s arrival will solve City’s centre-forward crisis following Julian Alvarez’s summer move to Atletico Madrid. Erling Haaland has shouldered the burden of leading the line, starting all 27 of City’s games across the Premier League and Champions League this season. City will be next seen in action on Sunday as they take on Ipswich in an away fixture in the league.
