Newcastle to splash out! Eddie Howe's side ready to spend big after making two Premier League stars top summer transfer targets

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi and Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo have emerged as Newcastle's favoured targets and the club are ready to bid for the duo, according to The Telegraph. Guehi is valued by Crystal Palace at around £65 million but Newcastle are hoping to pay less as he's into the final year of his contract. Meanwhile, Mbeumo is expected to cost around £50-£60m but has already attracted interest from Manchester United.

The Magpies want to build on a successful season by adding more quality to their squad. Eddie Howe's side ended their long wait for a trophy by beating Liverpool to lift the Carabao Cup, while the club have also secured Champions League football for next season after finishing fifth.

A Newcastle source told The Telegraph: "Everything is in place, all the work that has been done on players has been finished and now we have to push the button and get those deals done. We know who we want.”

The Premier League transfer window will be open from June 1 to June 10 and again from June 16 to September 1. Howe's side will hope they can land their desired targets as they prepare for a season where they will come up against Europe's elite once again in the Champions League.
