Pioli's five-year-long tenure at the helm of AC Milan has come to an end with the Rossoneri opting to part ways with the 58-year-old. They are now set to sign Fonseca to take over this summer as they look to return to challenging for the Serie A title after Inter Milan won the most recent Scudetto.

Fonseca's contract with Lille will run out this summer and the Portuguese was also linked with a move to Marseille, who as per the report were ready to offer a bigger deal than the Rossoneri. However, Fonseca preferred Milan's project and is set to sign a three-year deal.
