Mikel Arteta told 'best-looking manager award' is the only trophy he'll win this season - but Pep Guardiola should have won instead, says Teddy Sheringham

The Spanish tactician is still in the hunt for Champions League glory with the Gunners. The north London outfit have made their way to the quarter-finals of that competition, where they will be facing title holders Real Madrid.

Another Premier League title bid has faltered at Emirates Stadium, with a third successive runners-up finish on the cards, while domestic triumphs in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup have also fallen out of reach.

Arteta has been named the best-looking coach in the English top-flight, and that may be the only prize that he walks away with in 2024-25. Tottenham legend Teddy Sheringham is of that opinion.

Ex-England international Sheringham told casinoapps.com, with Arteta considered to be undeserving of the one accolade that he has secured: "Will it be the only trophy he wins? He can have that one.

"As for who I think should have won, you know what? I think Pep Guardiola. I just think he’s smooth. Everything he does, I think he's smooth. I love his manner, I love the way he is, I love his positivity, I love his enthusiasm, his professionalism, and he's cool as well, isn’t he?"

Arteta said when being told that he had landed the Premier League’s best-looking award: "My mum and dad should be very proud for the job that they did." The 43-year-old is tied to a contract at Emirates Stadium through to the summer of 2027.
