WHAT HAPPENED?
Arsenal are set to miss out on Premier League glory for the third straight year, as Liverpool look poised to lift the trophy this season. As such, the Gunners are set to enter the 2025 summer transfer window with all guns blazing in a bid to improve their squad for next season, with a striker the need of the hour as Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz struggle with long-term injuries.

Arsenal have seen former sporting director Edu leave the club and Andrea Berta join in his place, and the Italian will be in charge of the upcoming summer transfer window. Arteta has now vowed that the Gunners' summer transfer window is 'going to be a big one' as the north London side remain linked with the likes of RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko and Sporting's Gyokeres.
Getty Images SportWHAT ARTETA SAID
Speaking to the media, Arteta said: “It’s going to be a big one and we are very excited about it.
“The way we planned the first five summers, they were going to be very big and they were going to have different objectives because the turnaround of players and the objective of those windows was going to be different.
“But now, when you are going to go again, we want to increase the depth of the squad, but also we want to increase the quality and the skills that we need to go to the next step.”
WHAT NEXT FOR ARSENAL?
Speaking about Berta joining Arsenal ahead of the summer window, Arteta added: “I think Andrea is a big addition to the club, a big addition to the team, a team that is already formed with a lot of great people.
“Every summer is big because it is an opportunity and especially because of the number of players we have in the squad right now that is necessary.
“But it’s a big summer for many things because first of all we have to maintain the good foundations that we have and then obviously how can we improve and evolve the team.”
