Is Mauricio Pochettino facing the sack? Update on Chelsea manager's position amid rumours of dressing room unrest

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic[via ChelsTransfer on X], the head coach will stay on at Stamford Bridge until at least the end of the season despite the Blues having struggled with form throughout the campaign, currently finding themselves down in 11th in the Premier League after a dire 2-2 draw with 10-man Burnley.

Previous reports suggested that Pochettino's exit has been demanded by certain Chelsea players, who supposedly asked the ownership to ditch the former Tottenham boss after their mightily underwhelming home draw against the relegation-battling Clarets - who played more than 45 minutes with 10 men. However, Ornstein claims there has been no mutiny inside the Chelsea dressing room.

While results have hardly improved for Chelsea this season compared to last term when they went through three different managers (Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard), Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have decided to not be as hasty with their decision regarding Pochettino's position, which is backed up by Ornstein's claim that Chelsea will not make a decision on the Argentine's future until after the end of the season.

With the Argentine having been given a reprieve, he could potentially save his job at Stamford Bridge if his team can win the FA Cup. The Blues are already in the semi-finals of the competition and will take on Manchester City on April 20.
