The 35-year-old has clocked just 23 minutes of playing time in Serie A since joining Roma in a free transfer following his departure from Borussia Dortmund. Hummels' lack of playing time and the chaos around the team has resulted in the centre-back considering his future, as Sky Sport reports he is willing to leave the club in the January transfer window. If no suitable offer arises, he could decide to hang up his boots.
"I watched a few games. But why shouldn't this boy play? Let's see, he's of a certain age too," Ranieri said in his first press conference as Roma boss. "I choose who makes me win, the good coach is the one who makes the fewest mistakes."
