Former Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia has clarified that all Marcus did was ask his brother Khephren to admit to the referee it was a foul, saying on Sport Mediaset: "The source isn't revealed, but I know that Thuram simply told his brother: 'Tell the truth, you committed a foul.' And the brothers burst into laughter. That's all there is to it."
His claim was backed up by Italian media, who claimed Thuram did indeed say something along those lines.
Inter coach Christian Chivu said: "I didn't see it, I don't know, I don't know the context, I don't know if anything happened. But let's stop arguing, it doesn't do anyone any good."
AFPWill Marcus Thuram play against Ajax?
Thuram faces no punishment from the club will be available for selection to Chivu when Inter will face Ajax in the opening fixture of the 2025-26 Champions league.
