According to Marca, the 27-year-old winger is willing to accept a lower salary to make the move to Barca possible. Rashford has already been training in Spain as speculation around his future grows. After a difficult spell at Manchester United, he found renewed form during a loan stint at Aston Villa last season, contributing four goals and six assists in 17 matches. Now, with his sights set on La Liga, Rashford sees Barcelona as the ideal place for a fresh start.

Rashford’s push for a Barcelona move comes at a time when the club is aiming to boost its attacking options. With Lamine Yamal already emerging as a cornerstone for the future, the Spanish champions are looking to build a more dynamic frontline. Given the club’s ongoing battles with La Liga’s financial fair play rules and a restricted wage budget, Rashford’s willingness to accept a reduced salary could ease negotiations.

According to Sport, Barcelona sporting director Deco met with Rashford’s agent in May. Both sides reportedly expressed a strong interest in making the transfer happen this summer, but as always with Barca, the numbers will have to work first.

A deal, however, won’t be simple. United are expected to demand at least £40 million ($54m) to let Rashford go, a figure that could prove challenging for a club still walking a financial tightrope.

A move to Barcelona would mark Rashford’s first club experience outside of England. The Manchester-born forward has spent his entire professional career in England and made over 426 appearances for United since his debut in 2016. He also holds the record of being the youngest English player to score on his debut in both the Premier League and Europa League.

Rashford, who got his goal-scoring mojo back with Aston Villa, is expected to leave United this summer. With Barcelona expected to be active in the market under Hansi Flick, the Englishman could become one of their marquee signings if a deal is financially viable.
