    WHAT TUCHEL SAID

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel was asked about De Ligt's recent struggles for game time at a press conference this week. He said: "He missed all the preparation, then we used him a little too early in the Supercup, then he got seriously injured again and Min-jae and Upe got stuck. He has to fight for his place like everyone else. But of course we are planning with him, he is a top player and a top character."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

According to the report, one team is already showing interest in the ex-Ajax star - Manchester United. Erik ten Hag has already worked with the 24-year-old and is interested in bringing him to Old Trafford as the Red Devils look to strengthen their backline.
