  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Red Devils were in search of an attacking option in the summer transfer window and eventually signed Netherlands international Zirkzee from Bologna on a £36.5 million ($47m) deal. After displaying exceptional form for the Italian club in the 2023-24 season that saw them secure a Champions League spot, Zirkzee was expected to shine at Old Trafford right from the off.

However, Zirkzee has failed to live up to expectations so far at United, scoring just one goal and providing two assists in 17 appearances in the 2024-25 campaign. This has reportedly alarmed bosses at Old Trafford who could consider parting ways with him after just six months, according to Tuttosport.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

The report also adds that the 23-year-old attacker could head back to the Serie A with giants Juventus reportedly keen on signing him. The Bianconeri are in search of a replacement for injured striker Arkadiusz Milik, who underwent knee surgery in October. The Dutch forward would also get an opportunity to reunite with former manager Thiago Motta and the familiarity could help the player regain his long lost form.
