    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Reds have made contact to gauge the feasibility of a deal to sign Leoni. The teenager has won seven caps for Italy's U19 side, and enjoyed a breakthrough season in Serie A last term, playing 17 times in the league. He can operate as both a centre-back and a right-back.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Leoni is said to be intrigued by the prospect of a move to Inter, but it remains to be seen if the Reds will be able to turn his head. Liverpool are embarking on a summer spending spree, adding a clutch of new signings: Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, and, most recently, Hugo Ekitike.

    WHAT NEXT?

Liverpool play Milan on July 26 as they continue their pre-season preparations. Inter are only reported to be able to move for Leoni if they sell players first, so the Reds have some time to weigh an approach.
