Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas eyed by Roma as Italian giants hold ‘crucial meeting’ with Reds to discuss loan transfer amid Marseille interest

According to Football Italia, Roma and Liverpool representatives will meet on Monday to discuss a possible Tsimikas transfer. The Italian giants are said to be keen on a loan deal but Marseille are also keeping tabs on the left-back.

Tsimikas has been Liverpool's backup left-back behind Andrew Robertson for years now, but with the Reds adding Milos Kerkez to their squad this summer, the Greek is now third choice at Anfield. It seems the 29-year-old's time with the Merseyside outfit is drawing to a close but his next club is far from certain.

The Greece international joined Liverpool from Olympiacos in 2020 for a reported fee of £11.75 million ($16m). In that time, he has made 115 appearances for the Reds and won a Premier League title, an FA Cup and two Carabao Cups.

Tsimikas, whose Liverpool contract runs until 2027, is also reportedly wanted by two other unnamed clubs. Time is running out for his suitors to sign the experienced defender before the transfer window shuts on September 1, though.
