    The Herons announced the signing of Gressel on Tuesday afternoon, noting their excitement in bringing in an "established" player like him into the squad. He joins Uruguayan talisman Luis Suarez as one of the newcomers this offseason, with the ex-Barcelona star bolstering their attack.

    “Julian is an established player with a winning track record in the league who has proven himself at every stage during his MLS career,” said Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson. “We are pleased to add him to our squad as his versatility and quality delivery will bolster Inter Miami as we look to build on the successes of last season in 2024.”

    Gressel will immediately provide competition on the right flank, while also allowing Tata Martino to change formations if needs be. The U.S. international will challenge Deandre Yedlin for minutes, but the Argentina head coach could also push him into the midfield or attack. It remains to be seen what the Herons' plans are for the 30-year-old, but he will play a crucial role in their upcoming campaign.
